Lots of snow coming down in the passes this Sunday through Monday afternoon!  Snowshoes are an absolute must.  Please be prepared if you have a scheduled, permitted visit.

426 AM PST SUN FEB 24 2013

...A FOOT TO FOOT AND A HALF OF NEW SNOW IS LIKLEY IN THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS OF THE CASCADES TODAY THROUGH MONDAY...

.ANOTHER PACIFIC FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL BRING UP TO A FOOT AND A HALF
OF NEW SNOW TO THE HIGHER WEST SLOPES OF THE CASCADES TODAY
THROUGH MONDAY. MOUNT BAKER AND PARADISE AT MOUNT RAINIER WILL
PROBABLY GET THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL...WITH THE MAJOR HIGHWAY PASSES
RECEIVING ONLY 5 TO 10 INCHES OF NEW SNOW. SNOWFALL WILL BE
RELATIVELY LIGHT TODAY...THEN INCREASE TONIGHT AS THE COLD FRONT
MOVES THROUGH...AND CONTINUE MONDAY IN COOL MOIST WESTERLY FLOW.

4 PM PST MONDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SEATTLE HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO 4 PM PST MONDAY.

* SOME AFFECTED LOCATIONS...MOUNT BAKER AND PARADISE AT MOUNT
  RAINIER.

* TIMING...LIGHT SNOW WILL BEGIN TODAY...THEN INCREASE TONIGHT AND
  CONTINUE MONDAY.

* ACCUMULATIONS...AROUND 11 TO 17 INCHES OF NEW SNOW IS LIKELY AT
  MOUNT BAKER AND MOUNT RAINIER TONIGHT AND MONDAY. THE MAJOR
  HIGHWAY PASSES WILL RECEIVE LESS...PROBABLY IN THE 5 TO 10 INCH
  RANGE.

* MAIN IMPACT...DIFFICULT DRIVING CONDITIONS AND POSSIBLE DELAYS.

* SNOW LEVEL...AROUND 1500 FEET THIS MORNING...RISING TO 3000 TO
  35OO FEET TONIGHT...THEN FALLING TO 2000 FEET MONDAY.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW IS ISSUED WHEN 11 TO 17 INCHES
OF NEW SNOW IS EXPECTED IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD.
